Throughout the month of March some of the team behind our ARCEMS software will be taking part in the Race To The Base challenge in order to raise money for one of our customers Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
This involves our team (Matt, Lucas, Marwan and Paul) each having to complete 130 miles in March. The target miles can be reached by walking, running or cycling. The reason for the 130 mile target is due to this being the distance from the RVI Newcastle to both of the GNAAS airbases and back again.
After a week or so progress has been good with many of the team nearing or exceeding 50% of the target already. Below are some photos taken by the team so far during the challenge.
So if you see some tired looking people pounding the pavements of Rowlands Gill, Lower Walkley or Jesmond Dene (or Desmond Jean as my phone’s autocorrect calls it) – then that will be us, Team Surge clocking up the miles.
If you’re able and would like to make a donation to the team and GNAAS you can do so via our Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/team/wearesurge
You can also follow our progress on our Twitter account – give us a follow and see how it’s going.
**Update on 30th March
We’re happy to report that the team have now passed their targets and are enjoying a well deserved rest!
